I took another morning run yesterday and I spotted some leftover Poppy flowers in the wild “weedy” narrow street in my neighbourhood. I thought to myself, they are still here, still hanging on, still standing…and they are blooming! Their petals are almost worn out, probably from last days heavy rains and wind, and again scorched by the late summer sun.
Despite their fragile being, they looked so resilient.Still so pretty.

This summer I haven´t had the chance to visit my usual seasonal fields. I was too busy at work and preparing for my art exhibit and I have less days to roam around and do my “Wandertags“. I cycled a lot and do rounds and spotted less yellow Rapeseeds, I thought they were planted less over here this year, maybe crop change for the fields as well.

This Poppy field came as a lovely surprise. We went on a spontaneous drive, and just followed google maps to bring us to this hidden field.I even forgot the place, it´s a tiny neighbourhood, or we call it here “Dorf” , a village going to the direction of Abensberg, Riedenburg or so.Sorry, as usual, I am bad in orientation.

I almost give up, but then on another curve, this view came to sight. Finally, a field full of blooming summer flowers, but my eyes is fixated in my favourite red Poppy flowers. I actually spotted some rare pale lilac poppies , they are so pretty! The bright late afternoon sun made this place so beautiful!

When we arrived, there were already a family that´s taking a photoshoot as well so we waited a bit to let them finish. When our turn comes, I took delight in taking lots of photos and photographed it closely. I noticed that this place was frequented by cyclists and people who do walking tours. Might be exciting to cycle around with a view like this.

I am so glad that we lived in such areas where beautiful nature is seen in different seasons. This summer is quite special since I have discovered this poppy field and I am sure to be coming back next summer. Here in Bavaria,we called it “Mohnfeld“. Mohn is the name of the Poppy flower and feld is a field.Walking through a Poppy field is a great adventure with your children and family. As we looked at them closely, we learned symbiosis in nature. At a young age, my daughter is aware of the importance of wild flowers for bees to thrive and survive.

We were so happy, we were satisfied and made memories with nature once again. That is what we called simple joy in life. One of the things I appreciate living here in Germany is that it brought us back to nature. Sure, city life is cool, but we also have everything what we need here.Good thing we don´t need to travel far, this beauty is right in our region.I find it quite nature friendly that more and more “Bienenwiese” or a field for bees are popping out in my neighborhood. It means there are more high survival for bees .

There´s still plenty and left in my list, maybe a visit to the sunflower field over the weekend.I´ve heard they are in full blooming season and I am sure will be sharing them next in my Blog.
Until then, Servus und Tschüss!

I love poppies and these fields look stunning! Thank you for sharing them with us :)

How lovely! 🌸 We don’t really have any flower fields over here. Are they wild fields or, if not, why do they grow them?
No wonder you were busy, super mom artist! 💪 It’s good to grab life’s opportunities when they come 💞
