I was looking up and admiring so many views this past weekend but I still have time to look down from time to time. I don´t forget the world down there where beautiful finds await from every step that I take. Apart from hiking, I am busy with my looking Down project : Mushrooms down there. Now that Autumn is right before my eyes, I am more eager to find more mushrooms.
So here´s my first batch for this season.

Isn´t she just lovely?
And here are more…and more. They looked so good and I am really fascinated by them.

Is mushroom hunting a weird hobby? I really don´t care what others say, but as for me, Herbst (or Autumn) here in Germany means wonderful things. Colorful red, orange, rust golden skies, colorful foliage, pumpkins, and of course–mushrooms! Here in Germany, it´s really a thing for children to collect autumn leaves and create wonderful things out of them, or fill up a basket full of chestnuts (Horse chestnuts) that has fallen to the ground, and get a humungous pumpkin!
Believe me, I never search for mushroom in Philippines, nor in Kuwait except for mussels and shells. But here in Bavaria, i fell in love with mushroom foraging. Mushroom here pops up almost in every forest during Autumn season , from late September until November in some areas.

Every year I make sure to look down and search for it as part of my Looking Down Projects. Just in case I don´t see fascinating Stolper´s stones, or cute manhole covers and other things sprawled on the ground, my eyes are fixated on looking something natural as mushrooms.

From our recent hiking trip in Oberstdorf, I had a great time looking for mushroom. From our hike down from Söllereck, mushrooms are scattered all over the forest.
Most of my friends are going to Oktberfest and having a blast drinking beer but I am out here in the wilderness looking out for these cute little mushrooms.Autumn in Germany is really wonderful because we spent more time outdoors just being grateful and be in nature. With winter nearing our doorsteps–it´s a chance to reflect and spent more family time.

I haven´t found an edible mushroom but I am not really into eating them or I just don´t know if they are poisonous or not.Better be safe than sorry, we eat mushrooms but only when it´s safe and from the market.Just like Spargelzeit or Asparagus is widely celebrated here, mushrooms are also very high in season during Autumn .

This is not a mushroom but I find the roots really amazing. It´s the power of the tree!

I am looking forward to find more interesting ones in my next hiking experience.
How do you enjoy Autumn in your part of world?
Until then, Tschüß!

Who had a bite of the first one? 😱
You find mushrooms fascinating, to
me they are a bit disgusting coz they grow from debris and rot and
they are neither flora nor fauna!
And I’m scared my kids will touch the poisonous ones. Looking forward to mushroom season finishing! But lovely photos here! 🤩🤩🤩🤩

I would love to go mushroom hunting! I find them so interesting and varied- have you seen the one where the inside turns blue when it’s exposed to air?
That little red one is so cute.
We don’t get such interesting wild ones here in Australia.
