Konnichiwa, Tokyo!

Tokyo is so so big, yet so unique.I asked my daughter what is her dream travel destination and she replied casually–Tokyo. Here are some impressions I´ve got from our recent Japan trip. While its really tedious to describe our whole japanese experience in one post, let me share some photos of the places we´ve seen and the experiences that made us super happy in this trip. Despite the scary earthquake experience around 2 am from the 18th floor of our hotel, and the summer heat of 36-38 degrees, we managed to appreciate & see Tokyo, all in its beauty, wonder and all.

Ah Tokyo, Japan, how can I describe you? A myriad of beauty, excitement, adventure, and deep rooted Zen -values.Wild but very safe, delicious and legendary food culture, totally unforgettable to the taste buds, that´s how i can describe Tokyo.Skytree is a giant. Tokyo Tower is magnanimous.Shinkansen is pure genius. Tokyo station is a labyrinth, if you survive it, you´re free. The alleys of Tokyo speaks louder than its Ramen and Tonkatsu.Once you experienced Tokyo, you´ll never feel the same again.Crowd is massive, like an army loaded with humble beginnings.A mixture of traditional, ancient and yet appear as futuristic urban paradise landscape, nearly fast- paced robotic era.Despite the unfamiliar sound of Nihongo and strange Hiragana & Katakana writing system, I felt comfortable and safe. The friendliness of the locals are precious, totally world-class.

So are we going back to Japan again soon ? Absolutely!

Until then, Tschüß!

  1. I have to disappoint you by saying that Tokyo as a city really doesn’t appeal to me at all. Miles of high rise and too many people are really not for me. But the things that I regard as Japanese culture and habits- I have a lot of curiosity for that. But I can’t afford to go there and won’t lose sleep over it. Kyoto and the islands appeal more xx

  2. Yay! Great pictures! Japan is such an interesting country! Utterly modern and at the same time very traditional, and unique in the world.

  3. I guess Japan is one of those places that you can only experience – it’s definitely very popular but sounds like it is for a very good reason. I am glad you enjoyed your trip in the megacity.

  4. Yes thank you Pooja. One has to personally experience it then see for themselves how is it.Maybe its not for everyone but seeing something different from the usual is always good & that´s the point of exploring.
How are you.Hope all is well.
